Experimental steady-state measurements for ON (red) and OFF (blue) regulator states. We find Q, Tcontrol, and Treceiver by fitting the data to the thermal model (lines) accounting for conduction through the device and radiation to the surroundings. The larger ON state heat flows lead to more pronounced reference bar temperature gradients in the ON state than in the OFF state, as indicated by the different slopes dzdT in the ON and OFF states in the bottom reference bar.
