DAPI staining revealed globular chromatin fragments of highly variable sizes throughout the nuclei of OCI-AML2 cells treated with 1 uM ara-C for 24 h, whereas a relatively small number of large chromatin fragments are distributed in a ring-shaped pattern at the nuclear periphery of OCI-AML3 cells treated with 10 uM of ara-C for 24 h. ara-C concentrations were selected based on EC50values for toxicity in each cell line.
