Analysis of coverage of 100 nt long regions on the assembled genome. Log2ratio of coverage in L1s (mainly soma) compared with females is shown relative to the L1 over male ratio of coverage (large proportion of germline). Only two clusters are found becauseM. spiculigeramales do not have a Y chromosome. The retained DNA is shown in blue (R cluster). The eliminated DNA (i.e., germline-restricted DNA) is shown in red (E cluster). The vertical and horizontal lines are 100 nt regions with zero coverage in either male or female leading to an infinite value, arbitrary set at the maximum ratio.
