Relative indigo produced by cells grown at 33 C co-expressing HERD-2.2-GFP, HERD-2.2-FMO and HERD-2.2-TnaA at increasing concentrations of the FMO- and TnaA-containing fusions. The latter were under control of the pBAD promotor with concentrations varied by increasing the concentration of d-arabinose (0.01% to 0.2% w/v). Indigo production (A 610) was normalized both to cell density (OD 700) and the relative expression levels of the rate-limiting enzyme (FMO) measured by western blotting. Data are represented as mean standard error from n = 3 biologically independent experiments for each sample. P = 0.0318 (*) and P = 0.001 (***) by one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s HSD post-hoc test.
