Bubble Plot from Scientific Research

Citation
Signature similarity analysis for conditions from at least two studies for the same body site. Signatures were stratified by direction of abundance change into signatures with decreased abundance (left) and increased abundance (right) in the study group. Conditions are divided into two groups: conditions with highest reproducibility for signatures of decreased abundance (top) and increased abundance (bottom) in the study condition. Shown is the nominal P value ( x axis, negative log scale) obtained from testing whether the semantic similarity of signatures for each condition ( y axis) exceeds the semantic similarity of randomly sampled signatures (one-sided resampling test). The size of each dot corresponds to the number of studies investigating a condition; HPV, human papillomavirus.
