Number of transcripts with significant differences in abundance in high pH conditions compared to control conditions for TgVEG WT, TgVEG ROCY1 , and TgVEG BFD1 (|Log 2 Fold Change| 1, P adj < 0.05). Of the 348 BIC-altered genes, the majority (261) were dependent upon both ROCY1 and BFD1 for their induction (based on a lack of significant induction ( P adj>0.01) by pH in the knockout parasite line). Data from individual genes along with statistical analyses for pH responsiveness in all three strains is presented in Supplementary Dataset 2 .
