Both 2D class averages (middle) and fitted structures (flanking) highlight divergence from two-fold symmetry of A2-containing receptors (PDB: 7QHH) to a pseudo four-fold symmetry in GluA1 (cf-4). Main movements are of B/D subunits (Methods and Extended Data Fig. 9e).
