A possible model showing the plasma membrane of a trigger hair sensory cell expressing redundantly acting mechanosensitive channels required for membrane depolarization following a touch stimulus. These include FLYC2 and possibly FLYC1 (indicated by question mark), as well as OSCA and possibly other as yet undescribed channels. Arrows indicate the direction of ion movement following membrane deformation and channel opening. See also Figures S2–S4.
