Potential-well energy diagrams of the previously explored [Cr(L t Bu)3] reference complex 15, as well as the two new Cr(0) complexes. In [Cr(L Mes)3] and [Cr(L Pyr)3], the MLCT excited-state distortion (ΔQ e) is smaller than in [Cr(L t Bu)3], owing to cooperative rigidity and a π-electron density delocalization effect.
