Native PAGE analysis of the structures of DNA tweezers in the absence and presence of Gd III ions. Strand b was labeled with FAM for detection. Two authentic samples, the DNA tweezers without strand d (open state) and with a closing strand containing T in place of U OH (closed state), were used as the markers. 15% gel at 20 °C. Three independent experiments were performed. (*) A dimeric structure 28 in which two DNA tweezers are connected by binding of strand d .
