Oxygen consumption by reaction between 300 µmol L-1Na2S and 9 µg mL-1poly(ethylene glycol) hydrophilic carbon clusters (PEG-HCCs) and poly(ethylene glycol) oxidized activated charcoal (PEG-OACs) oxidized carbon nanoparticles (OCNs). After a settling period of 45 min, the addition of 300 µmol L-1H2S increases the rate of oxygen consumption; however, addition of 9 µg mL-1both OCN dramatically increases the rate of oxygen consumption. This result supports that the oxidation of H2S is oxygen dependent and that the OCNs are facilitating that effect.
