Neurons in the barrel wall were analyzed. The somata of labeled L4 neurons located in the hollow shown in light green. Septa and neighboring hollows are indicated in light gray and dark gray, respectively. Hollow regions were determined by anti-VGluT2 immunostaining. We did not distinguish between spiny stellate vs. star pyramid neurons. The diameter of traced dendrites is thickened for visibility. Scale bar, 100 μm.
