Phase-intensity PI: Integrated phase-intensity multilayer thin film consisting of polyvinyl alcohol/liquid crystalline polymers, enable precise control of phase differences between electric field components. Scattered light is reshaped according to phase modulation. Phase modulation is then converted to intensity modulation such that the resulting variation of intensity corresponds to subsets of nanoprobes labeling cellular architectures.
