TLC assay. Lane 1-3 are cholesteryl hemisuccinate (CHS), dodecylmaltoside (DDM), and PLM standards. Reaction mix with the enzyme only (E, Lane4), substrate only (S, Lane 5), and with both (E + S, Lane 6) were extracted with chloroform/methanol and separated in a solvent containing hexane:diethyl ether:acetic acid (70:30:3, vol:vol). Typical results of three independent experiments are shown.
