Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) revealed a higher number of CLDs in the tHMGR/AL-1/-2/-3 (TA123) transgenic callus cells, compared with the WT control. Some CLDs were found to be in close contact with the vacuole membrane (white arrows), or within the invagination of AV membranes (gray arrowheads), or inside the vacuole (black arrow).
