Tetrachoric correlations between parental investment across developmental periods: ALSPAC. For each developmental period (prenatal, infancy, childhood, adolescence), a binary variable was constructed, capturing ‘high’ parental investment (see Results for details). The colours in the matrices indicate strength of association, with darker areas indicating higher correlations. The panels show that high parental investment in one period tended to be associated with high parental investment in other periods.
