The reverse relationship between operating hours and heat rate in the southern grid region from 2016 to 2018. The yellow and purple fitting curves can be expressed by: hour = -6.05 x heat rate + 6,300.3 and hour = -10.72 x heat rate + 6,628.3. Nine outliers with extreme heat rates (exceeding 800 gce kWh -1 ) or extreme operating hours (lower than 500 h) were excluded to avoid their influence on the correlation.
