Schematic of the three Pyl system groups and their division into five classes. The names of the Pyl systems chosen for characterization are annotated below each class. For classes A and B, the A - 1R26 PylRS/A- Alv tRNA Pyl ( 1R26 / Alv ) and B - Lum1 PylRS/B- Int tRNA Pyl ( Lum1 / Int ) pairs were used. For all other classes, PylRS/tRNA Pyl pairs were derived from the same organism.
