Measured sticking coefficients for O(1D) from the CO2 photolysis experiment (red circles) and for O(3P) from the O2 discharge experiment (black squares) are plotted as a function of incidence kinetic energy. Data are represented as mean values, with error bars representing the 95% confidence intervals, obtained from a sample size of three repeated scattering measurements for O(1D) and five repeated measurements for O(3P). Calculated sticking coefficients for O(3P), obtained from trajectory calculations on the adiabatic PES (purple triangle) and triplet PES (blue stars), are also shown.
