Orientation of cell division axes relative to the A–P axis. The histogram includes 483 mitotic wave divisions and 112 differential cleavage divisions from two embryos. The indicated curves are von Mises distributions fit to histogram counts. The circular mean division angle and angular deviation for the mitotic waves are = 0 rad and s MW = 0.44. The circular mean division angle and angular deviation for the differential cleavage are = 0.04 rad and s MW = 1.29.
