Hopping rates involving Cys-113 and Cys-115 were accelerated under positive (113-to-115, 115-to-117) and negative potentials (117-to-115) on the E111Q-5C track relative to WT-5C track. Stepping rates for all steps were accelerated under both positive and negative potentials when the pH value of the buffer was increased to pH 9.5 (50 mM AMPSO). Dwell-time analysis and rate constant estimations were performed by using the maximum interval likelihood algorithm of QuB software.30The average stepping rate along each track was calculated by taking the reciprocal of the average time per step (i.e., average time per step=<τtotal>/8).
