Colour blocks include patients who stayed in the same room in the ICU wards, four from BMH (lower part) and four from the NHTD (upper part). Each sample's collection time (on admission, on discharge and weekly if patients stayed longer than 7 days in ICUs) within a patient is indicated by a single circle (BMH) or triangle (NHTD). Dotted lines represent the length of stay per patient. The links showed the connection between patients, or patients and the environment that had the different isolates first before the subsequent patient was seen to have that strain.
