Drop in AUC ( y axis) when removing a single category at a time from the full Lasso classifier (including all predictors). Removing all predictors from a category removes all information unique to the predictors of that category, meaning that the drop in AUC quantifies the loss in predictive power due to information unique to the removed category. The lower the AUC here, the higher is the amount of unique information contained in the category that is useful for predicting COVID-19 vaccination uptake. The black dashed line indicates the AUC of the full Lasso model using all predictor categories. The error bars and the error band correspond to 95% CIs computed using bootstrapping; the centres of the error bars correspond to the point estimates.
