After filtering of too-short assemblies and potential chimeras, 3,031 fully assembled eukaryotic PBAs were aligned. SSU and LSU regions were directly joint for GTR model fitting with 100 bootstraps. According to the annotations, we clustered nine clades even though many of the clusters presented a mixture of different phyla. The fractions of known taxonomic rank annotation at the levels of (P)hylum, (C)lass, (O)rder, (F)amily, (G)enus, and (S)pecies are shown in the bar plot in the right-bottom corner.
