Hollow cylinders of Fmoc-FF at pH 4, 7 and 9, CpHMD equilibrates to a mixture of protonated/deprotonated carboxylate groups and a stable structure, pH 9 is almost entirely deprotonated and a stable hollow tube while at pH 4 carboxylate groups have become mostly protonated showing structure collapse.
