Main steps to derive a mash representing an object's surface illustrated via i) the example of a raspberry, going from discrete images coming from computed tomography data ii–v) to a surface mesh and eventually surface curvature. vi) Typically, an image consists of a discrete pixel or voxel-based grid where each pixel/voxel is assigned to the intensity of a given signal. This image can be vii) converted by thresholding and binarization to vii, ix) a voxel-based data set, x) which can be fitted with a triangulated surface mesh.
