The macaque claustrum is roughly divided into four domains with preferential connection with distinct cortical areas (marked by the same color) and different compositions of transcriptome-defined glutamatergic cell types. Subcortical structures are marked with colors of their preferential claustral target regions. Connection strength was indicated by the thickness of the arrowhead lines.
