Power in theα,β, andγbands induced by Context stimuli arriving 250–750 ms after a Probe stimulus were significantly higher than those induced by Context stimuli arriving 1+s in both protocols in L2/3 and L4 of S1 (Wilcoxon rank-sum test). Evaluation of power in the window 200–250 ms indicates the increase in 20 Hz (βband) power is driven by incoming Context stimuli, whereas the increase in 40 or 60 Hz (γband) power may result from sustained responses to the Probe stimuli (Wilcoxon rank-sum test). The mean difference(Δ)in power evoked by early vs. late Context stimuli in thePatCorrand Randomized datasets were compared. Effects in theβandγbands recorded in S1 L3/3 were significantly stronger in thePatCorrdataset (Wilcoxon rank-sum tests). Significance denoted with∗p<0.05,∗∗p<0.01,∗∗∗p<0.001. All exact n and p values are listed inTable S6.
