Mean NSI values of the power spectral densities within thealpha,beta, andgamma bands evoked by the Probe stimuli on all channels in the cortical layers of S1 and S2. L2/3 in S1 and S2 and L6 in S2 exhibit significant differences in activity evoked between the two protocols (Wilcoxon signed-rank test;S1L2/3-gamma: p = 0.0194, n = 24;S2L2/3-alpha: p = 0.0185, n = 30;S2L6-alpha: p = 0.0350, n = 30).
