Small spheres were randomly placed in a box with periodic boundary conditions and allowed to coalesce into larger spheres on collision. Sphere dynamics are dictated by fractal Brownian motion (example trajectories), resulting in faster coalescence for larger subdiffusive exponent α (Methods).
