Measurement of the maximum (blue line) and average (orange line) error over all pixels obtained when using layouts constructed using different Area Exponent values in the per-rectangle error estimation, averaged over all reported in Table II. The lowest values are found for the Area Exponent value 0.5, corresponding to the adoption of $error_{avg}$ (Equation 17) as the criterion guiding the construction of the layout.
