Workflow from Scientific Research

Concept of our proposal. We first decomposed the real-world scene-text image into a text layer and a background layer. Next, we applied data augmentation to perturb the geometry and color of the text layer. Then, we proposed a Learning-based Text Synthesis Engine to recompose the two layers back to their original natural relationship, so that the engine can learn the complicated layout and appearance of text instances from real-world scene images.
