For part of an ROC curve, the area that represents the model's performance, is the average of the vertical and horizontal areas (Ay and Ax which both include the green area). This is known as the concordant partial AUC, which we denote AUCi, and it is less than 1. It can be normalized to [0,1] as AUCni.
