Surface of the active site cavities of TadA*8.20 and T AD AC-1 variants. T AD AC-1.17 (second panel) shows no difference compared to TadA*8.20 (first panel). T AD AC-1.14 loop between 4 and 5 (third panel) alters the shape of the active site cavity, making A109 steric clash with dT(8) of TadA*8.20-ssDNA. T AD AC-1.19 loop between 1 and 1 (fourth panel) alters the shape of the active site cavity, making the residue R26 steric clash with dC(10) of TadA * 8.20-ssDNA.
