Transitions from one moving carousel onto the other within 500 frames, with at least 50% occupancy on the second carousel, were counted for both groups (spinning-carousel to spinning-carousel transitions). As reference, stationary carousel transitions were also counted (stationary-carousel to stationary-carousel transitions). Although the stationary transitions did not significantly differ between seeker and avoider groups, moving carousel transitions occurred significantly more frequently in seeker flies and more frequently than corresponding stationary transitions. Kruskal-Wallis test with Dunns post hoc testp< 0.0001;p= 0.0003; n.s., not significant. Box-and-whisker violin plots with median (white point), first and third quantile (upper and lower boundary of each box), and 5% and 95% confidence level (whiskers).
