Performance of individual readers in differentiating malignant from non-malignant images. Expert otolaryngologists showed modest improvements in specificity, accuracy, and AUC when assessing normal versus abnormal, although sensitivity decreased slightly. Primary care otolaryngologists, however, showed more significant gains in all metrics, particularly in sensitivity and AUC. When distinguishing malignant versus non-malignant, both groups had notable improvements in accuracy and AUC, with primary care otolaryngologists showing greater enhancements compared with experts.
