Girl aged 12 years with Staphylococcus aureus meningitis: axial T2-weighted and diffusion imaging illustrates an infarct in the artery of percheron with bilateral medial thalamic involvement with associated diffusion restriction (arrows). This infarct is likely a sequelae of arteritis due to infective material within the suprasellar cistern from a pituitary abscess (dotted arrows on the sagittal T1 image) that also shows restricted diffusion (white arrows).
