Low-risk patients are proposed to undergo surveillance with the capsule sponge only, moderate-risk patients undergo surveillance with alternating capsule sponge and endoscopy procedures, and high-risk patients have an immediate endoscopy. The frequency of the surveillance procedure would be tailored to the available resources. For example, patients classified as moderate risk could have more frequent surveillance alternating sponge and endoscopy in ultra-long segments when health-care costs can be reimbursed.
