Each row and column represent a fly and a 2-min interval, respectively. Meal bouts are defined as drops in the meniscus level exceeding the mean + 2 (standard deviation) of evaporation, which is measured without flies (see STAR Methods for the details). Light and dark conditions (12 h each) are shown below. Meal size is indicated by the color scale on the right. 10 flies per genotype are measured.
