This suggests that the FaRLiP cluster is an ancient innovation that mainly evolved by vertical descent. It is present in seven orders, listed on the right, organized into six groups (I–VI). Red boxes in the middle mark branches where FaRLiP gene phylogenies are different from the genome tree. Gloeobacter (purple) was used as outgroup. Genome tree was built with Orthofinder from single- and multi-copy protein orthologues. Bootstrap 100.
