(Top to bottom) (1) Input rate waveform (gray), (2) excitatory/inhibitory events (green/red) and Vm dynamics for a single trial, and (3) rate output from peri-stimulus time histograms (PSTH) over 100 trials. The step decreases in amplitude (step 1 to 2: 3.5x to 2x step-to-baseline factor) and then increases in duration (step 2 to 3: 50 to 250 ms).
