Quantities of Landauer’s principle are shown as a function of time for subregion size ratios L S / L = 0.43. The legend on the top applies to both panels. For each quantity, the experimental averages are represented by circles with error bars marking the 68% confidence intervals (equivalent to the standard error of the mean) obtained from bootstrapping with 999 samples. The shaded areas show the 68% confidence interval for the theoretical predictions, considering the uncertainty in the estimated temperature and tunnelling rate obtained from bootstrapping with 999 samples. The experimental data agree with the quantum field theory simulation results using Neumann boundary conditions and considering the finite imaging resolution.
