Triboelectric mechanism of the MoS2SiO2core-shell structure. The surface contact potential of the core-shell structure is considerably reduced by the polarization of the ferroelectric material, causing the generation of triboelectric charges (electrons) on the MoS2layer during the contact with external electrodes. The electrons charged on MoS2are drawn to the interface between SiO2and MoS2by the electric field induced by the ferroelectric polarization and the leakage characteristics of MoS2. At this interface, the electrons are trapped by the potential wall formed owing to the band structures of MoS2and SiO2, enabling the induction of a greater number of triboelectric charges. Furthermore, MoS2prevents the loss of trapped electrons through contact with atmospheric moisture, thereby enhancing the resistance of the material to humidity.
