Effect of EPSs on chlamydospore germination: microscopy observation of chlamydospores (stored at 4°C for 10 months) after treatment with EPSs secreted by S1, S19, S48, and S128, respectively. Water was used as the control, and the EPS concentration was standardized to 800 μg/mL. Four replicates were set for each treatment. Chlamydospores were identified by their yellow-brown coloration, whereas secondary conidia appeared colorless and transparent. The experiment was repeated twice with similar results. Scale bars: 10 μm.
