Microscopy observations of the colonization and germination of dormant chlamydospores on JLY root surfaces after co-incubation with Novosphingobium fluoreni (S48). White arrows indicate dormant chlamydospores, and red arrows indicate germinating chlamydospores. Scale bars: 20 μm in (E) and (G). The experiment was repeated three times with similar results.
