To address whether IF results in an increased uptake of Trp into peripheral tissues, we fed 14-month-old male IF/AL C57BL6/J mice a diet containing15N-labeled Trp and determined the fraction of15N-labeled peptides in skeletal muscle using mass spectrometry.
