All data was fitted into a multiple regression model to investigate the main effects on the hazard ratio of the mean siRNA efficacy and mRNA accessibility scores, of restricting the target region to ORF and of choosing the target gene. The model suggested that the siRNA efficacy score could be used to determine the dsRNA target region with the highest insecticidal efficacy. Also, targeting the ORF and selecting the target gene turned out to be the key parameters associated with insecticidal efficacy. P values < 0.05 were accepted as significant contributors to the hazard ratio and indicated in bold. Tc - gawky was taken as the reference level for the target gene factor, compared to which klp61F , hr3 , elF3a , rpt1 , and rpn7 were significantly worse choices
