Surgical approach: a head bar is fixed on the mouse head (i) before the craniotomy (ii). The implant is pushed inside the cortex using an insertion rod (iii). The shanks are therefore placed at the desired position (iv). After the retraction of the insertion rod, they remain at their position (v).
