Representational similarity between axis-coding channels in the VTC and identity-selective channels in the MTL. The similarity was calculated using Spearman’s correlation between the representational distances among neural populations in each area. Statistical significance was determined using the Mantel test, where the observed correlation was compared with a null distribution generated by shuffling the matrices’ values 1,000 times. ∗∗p< 0.01.
