In all study arms, samples for hemocytometry, whole-blood cytokine responses and RNA sequencing (RNA-seq), as well as plasma proteome and metabolome, were collected at three time points: baseline (t0); on completion of the intervention (after the intervention) (t1) (at week 2 for the dietary intervention and week 1 for the banana beverage intervention); and 4 weeks after completion of the intervention (t2) (follow-up).
